Boroondara Nature Strips

You too can support local biodiversity and healthy waterways by returning your nature strip – to nature!

The Outer Circle biodiversity corridor connects natural habitats across Boroondara and beyond. Nature strips contribute to the corridor by acting as important pollinator pathways and increase local flora and fauna.

KooyongKoot (Gardiners Creek), Ashburton Creek and their catchment areas are important contributors to the health of the Birrarung (Yarra River) and Nerm (Port Phillip Bay).

Rewilding our Naturestrips

The Rewilding our Naturestrips group has recently joined with the KKA to collaborate on projects within the Boroondara municipality.

‘Rewilding our Naturestrips’ supports City of Boroondara residents with their nature strip rewilding projects and engages with similar groups across other local government areas.  The KooyongKoot Alliance, Balwyn Rotary and partners are supporting the transformation of nature strips across Boroondara – helping residents revegetate spaces with drought-tolerant, indigenous plant species.

The great news is that there are active groups and resources to help you transform your nature strip into vital biodiversity habitat!
