Indigenous Plant Nurseries

Indigenous Plants for your garden can be purchased from these volunteer-run nurseries.

Volunteers from both Greenlink and Bungalook are very knowledgeable and a re more than happy to provide advice to the public.
Please check their web-sites for opening days/hours, location information and sale days.

Note that Bungalook’s web-site has very powerful search capabilities useful for identifying plants for suitable sites under a variety of conditions, requirements, uses and applications. These could be useful for both home gardeners looking to make a contribution to the corridor and bushland regenerators alike.

Bush Tucker Plants

  • Indigenous Plant Use Guide by the Clean Air and Urban Landscapes Hub at the University of Melbourne – authored by Barkandji woman Zena Cumpston.  It explores the cultural, nutritional, technological and medicinal use of indigenous plants.

Gardens for Wildlife

The Gardens for Wildlife program is active in some municipalities to support local residents, free of charge, setting an area aside in their gardens for local wildlife – the benefits including assisting bio-links and corridors.
