Today (4/4/2023) was the official launch of the Gardiners Creek (KooyongKoot) Regional Collaboration.
The KKA was well represented and the KooyongKoot Catchment Keeper, our Graham Ross, made an address on behalf of the volunteers who have contributed to the collaboration.
MC for the event was the Gardiners Creek Collaboration Lead, Matthew Kirwan from the City of Boroondara. Other speakers included a welcome from the Mayor of Whitehorse (Mark Lane) and a description of the personnel (past/present) and next steps, from Stonnington’s Alice Trumble. This was preceded by a welcome to country (Tanderrum) from a representative of the Wurundjeri elders.
The event was very well attended with many State and Federal MPs present, representatives from the various Councils, Melbourne Water, the Yarra Riverkeeper Assocation, the Field Naturalists Club, Deakin University and others.
As part of the launch, a prospectus was released. You can read a copy here.
